Biblical Finance vs Biblical crisis

So listening a sermon on finance this morning and wondering how the
Christian Church can justify talking about financial struggle while over 90
% of the worlds population are living in much harder situations.
If you make over $5000 per year you are part of the richest 10% of the
worlds population.
Our financial struggles are our own fault. I am talking about myself as
much as anyone else.
I have no illusions that my financial stress and anxiety is the cause of
poor decisions that I have made.
I fight the staus quo but it is hard not to buy (no pun intended) into the
lies that we are told by the secular society we live in.
Every commercial we watch tells us we are losers and we will be better,
prettier, happier, more generous, more fun etc etc etc if we buy the
product they have.
Even my 8 year old son gets this.
When we watch commercials together I often ask him what lie he thinks the
comercial is asking him to believe. He can point out right away that it
tells him he will be happier if he has that toy. At 8 years old he can
figure this out.
When do we stop using our critical thinking caps and decide that the
American dream is what we need to be happy.
The minister today said God wants us to have hope even in our finances.
What about those that really struggle with no hope and its not even in
they're control. We choose to over spend and they have nothing to spend.
They just want water to live or a little food to feed they're children.
Come on people.!!!! Its time those of us in the western Church start to
take responsibility for our actions.
We are part of about 7% of the worlds population that uses over 35% of the
planets resources. Its not about wantying the whole planet to live in the
wealth and excess that we do. If that happenned we would need more than one
planet to provide everyone with the life we live. This is clearly not
sustainable and God's people need to start setting the example and live
sacrificially.
Let's stop talking about finance as if we are hard done by and need more.
We need to start living the Christ like example. There is no excuse
anymore.
